This photo showing the front of the mask shows how far out I was. The tubes are sticking out too far at the back and the cheeks now look too boxey.
On the plus side, the top of the cheek looked great but there was nothing for it but to spend the rest of the day scraping off the clay, and removing the tubes from, the sides of the cheeks.
This phot also shows the work required on that right hand whisker: the curve needs to be reworked from about half way up, right through to the tip of the nose.
The force was obviously not with me this weekend...
